A

Acyclovir - Antiviral drug given intravenously and orally
ALL - Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia
Allogeneic Transplant, Allograft - Transplant using other persons donor marrow
Alopecia - Hair Loss
AML - Acute Myeloid Leukaemia
Amphotericin - Anti fungal drug. Given as a mouth lozenge. Can be given systematically via intravenous route.
Anaemia - A condition when there is a decreased number of blood cells.
Analgesia - Pain relief
Anti-coagulant - Thins the blood in order to help stop clotting i.e. heparin.
Anti- emetic - Anti –sickness drugs.
Anti fungal - Drugs which kill fungus i.e. Itraconazole, caspofungin.
Aplastic Anaemia - A non-cancerous blood disorder in which the bone marrow is not functioning.
Autologous transplant - Transplant using your own marrow or stem cells.
