Acyclovir
Antiviral drug given intravenously and orally

Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia

Allogeneic Transplant, Allograft
Transplant using other persons donor marrow

Alopecia
Hair Loss

AML
Acute Myeloid Leukaemia

Amphotericin
Anti fungal drug. Given as a mouth lozenge. Can be given systematically via intravenous route.

Anaemia
A condition when there is a decreased number of blood cells.

Analgesia
Pain relief

Anti-coagulant
Thins the blood in order to help stop clotting i.e. heparin.

Anti- emetic
Anti –sickness drugs.

Anti fungal
Drugs which kill fungus i.e. Itraconazole, caspofungin.

Aplastic Anaemia
A non-cancerous blood disorder in which the bone marrow is not functioning.

Autologous transplant
Transplant using your own marrow or stem cells.
